With IcarusWings, you can look at the current and past data from the local wind talkers run by the ACTHPA(Australian Capital Territory Hang gliding and Paragliding Club). There are 3 sites that currently have wind talkers, Spring Hill, Lake George and Pig Hill. For more information on the sites please see our website: www.acthpa.com

There are 3 pages that display graphs and raw data for each location that allow the user an easier understanding of what the conditions are or trending towards. The user through the app settings, can change the different types of measurements for wind or temperature, the type of wing they fly, be it a hang glider or paraglider, and select the level of their license/experience that then changes the heuristics for best conditions for them to fly in.

The app access’s our clubs local server and refresh everything every 5 minutes to keep the information up to date. It also has a sea breeze warning system built in, that when turned on and the user is flying at Spring Hill, it will warn them to land immediately when the breeze has been detected at Lake George or Pig Hill.

Please remember that the numbers from the wind talkers can sometimes be inaccurate and to also use your own best judgement!!
